Everyday, we are force-fed by mass media with what seem like truths on the surface.

Mass media, especially state-controlled ones, can be skewed to present one-sided arguments as the ultimate truth. Facts and figures can be employed as proof of truth and at the same time divert attention from other hidden facts, facts that may provide a different view of what the truth really is.
